I'm very excited that the BBNLP liked my idea for a cartoon strip about a typical NLP family called Meet The Metas. The cartoon is the result of collaboration between illustrator Goom and myself.

The strip follows the day to day life of a typical NLP family; the Metas. The first strip will be appearing in the next edition of The Model magazine.

Character profiles:

Mrs Meta - Mira		Beautician who works for Nova; that well known cosmetics company. Mira is a Certified NLP Practitioner and likes to use her NLP tool kit to help her clients; whether they want it or not! She always has a mirror to hand & judges people by their ‘cover’; how they look and what they wear. Although she would say she is a great listener she is rarely present as her imagination always gets the better of her. Madly in love with her husband Tom but does wish he would give up this body builder lark! read Mira's blog by clicking here
Mr Meta - Tom (pos)		Plumber and amateur body builder – always seeking to improve his position in and out of the workplace. Constantly struggling to find himself against that he perceives to be other expectations. A real hunk and totally unaware of the impact he has on his family and others. Often can be found striking bodybuilding poses and coming up with lame excuses when he gets caught in the act.
Miss Meta - Sage (mess)		College kid – always connected to the present – with mobile stuck to her ear. Hormones racing & seeking her identity. Very self conscious but finds it hard to talk to her mother about what’s going on because she never listens. So takes advice via text (meta) messages from her mobile – not always easy to decipher! Sage is constantly trying to decide what to accept and act upon and what to reject and discard. Although she doesn’t always choose wisely her struggle to live with the consequences of her actions are always interesting.
Master Meta - Trig (map)		School boy – always has his ‘A-Z of NLP’ book with him. Wears glasses that are clearly too large for his face. Very intelligent and finds his family highly embarrassing. Constantly consulting his A-Z of NLP to help him find solutions to the situations that his family finds itself in. Book offers possible solutions and interventions to what’s going on but these are not always interpreted and applied correctly by Trig with interesting results!
Cat - Cog (nition)		Infuriatingly all knowing. Provides wise words to summarise, comment on family’s predicaments.
Robot - Rog (P ram)		Takes everything literally. So because the family are rarely specific enough with their commands Rog is often causing more mess and trouble than he was designed to clean up.
